Family
Defends Prayer Signs On House
The Associated Press
A Houston woman and her son are asserting
their right to post prayer signs on their homes.
Ivy Raschke and her son, Derek Roberts, live next door to
each other. They told a state district judge in Houston
on Monday that they'd made a covenant with God to put signs
on their homes stating, "This is a house of prayer."
Her daughter, who lives several houses away, posted a similar
sign.
That spurred a lawsuit from the Oak Forest Homeowners Association.
They allege the family breached deed restrictions prohibiting
advertising and placards other than for the home's sale
or rental.
Visiting state district judge PK Reiter says he'll rule
by February 13th.
