Fun from the 4th of july bike parade and decorating contest
On July 4th, The OFHA, in partnership with Rob Ryan Homes, Elizabeth Villareal and Supercuts on 43rd, sponsored the kids bike decorating contest and parade. The festivities began early in the morning around 8:30am to avoid the heat of the day. As participants arrived, they were greeted by board President Elizabeth Villareal and Past President, Martha Mears who encouraged them to enter a raffle. Guests could stop and take a photo at the themed booth put on by LkL Photography, get their faces painted with a patriotic design, or play some games with Sam's Soccer Jam. Coffee was generously provided by CycleBar-Heights. Chic-Fil-A at 610 & Shepherd provided a light breakfast as guests waited for the parade to begin. Members of the Waltrip band played patriotic tunes and the Chic-Fil-A cow led the bike parade down the path at TC Jester Park. Following the parade, prizes were awarded for decorated bikes, wagons and strollers. It was a family-filled way to kick off the Fourth!
