Frequently Asked Questions
What is OFHA?
Oak Forest Homeowners Association is a voluntary membership association.
The OFHA Board is comprised of OFHA members who are volunteers.
OFHA is dedicated to enforcing the Deed Restrictions of Oak Forest's 18 Sections. We strive to maintain the integrity of our neighborhood with its single family homes, large green lawns and the gorgeous trees for which Oak Forest is known. We hope to improve the sense of community among our neighbors and quality of life in our special "small town within the big city" by bringing the community together for events while providing opportunities to serve our neighbors - as well as having a little fun.
We work on park and community beautification projects as well. OFHA has the grass at Oak Forest Park and Candlelight Park mowed once per month in the warm months of the year which keeps the grass low enough for Oak Forest's residents to run, play, rest and recharge in their own neighborhood green spaces.
Are OFHA membership dues mandatory?
No. OFHA membership dues are voluntary. If you elect to pay, the annual dues are $40. Payments may be made online at https://www.ofha.org/membership-and-donations.html.
Where does the membership money go?
Membership money goes to administrative overhead like insurance and printing, beautification projects, community events and activities, and other miscellaneous items associated with the neighborhood.
How can I become involved?
Attend a monthly meeting and/or join a committee! We would love to have your involvement. As a volunteer, you have the choice of working on a committee or just coming out and helping with a single project.
Please contact Community Relations Director Sara Heald at saradheald@gmail.com for more information related to volunteering.
